Frequently asked questions

What is the azalvo Project powered by Jumpstart?

The azalvo Project powered by Jumpstart is an ideas lab focused on lifestyle, retail and fashion-tech innovation. The program leverages our expertise, resources,  mentorship, business network and technology verticals to help build trailblazing startups from the ground up. Our goal is to help our cohort teams to scale revenue by obtaining commercial contracts, POC’s projects from our wide business network in Asia.

How long is the program?

The azalvo project is a 12-week, free hybrid accelerator program (online or in-person). Our 2023 cohort will commence on March 20, 2023 and end on June 16, 2023.

What’s included in the accelerator?

The azalvo project facilitates the development of proprietary products, disruptive platforms, and a transformation of the lifestyle and fashion tech value chain. A hybrid program with a mix of virtual and in-person interactions, the azalvo project powered by Jumpstart is open to teams outside of Hong Kong and has a region-wide focus in Asian markets. Teams could join virtually or in person in Hong Kong. For teams coming into Hong Kong, we could assist with the visa process.

Incorporating a purposeful curriculum, group classes, and on-on-one mentorship sessions, the program connects participating startups with ecosystem enablers including investors, marketers, business strategists and thought leaders. The ultimate goal is to help teams increase their revenue and brand presence.

Who can apply to the program?

We are looking for revenue-generating startup teams within the fashion-tech and retail-tech space. At a minimum, you should have at least one finished product. Teams with a track record of success, investments, growing revenues, previous accelerator experience would be a plus. Startups from around the world can apply with no restrictions.

Is there a progam fee?

No. This is a completely free accelerator, we do not want teams to bear extra burden while trying to grow at this critical time of their company. However, should teams choose to come to Hong Kong, they need to bear their own travel, housing and other related expenses.

We need funding now, can we get investment by joining the program?

Unfortunately, we do not provide immediate funding at the beginning of the program. However, there will be potential investment meetings towards the end of the program. Exceptional teams may be offered investment from azalvo and/or its stakeholders.

What happens after the azalvo Project program is completed?

A major part of the goal of this program is to invest in the long-term success of our entrepreneurs. We want to build a sustainable community of quality entrepreneurs that support their current cohort teams and future teams.  We believe in paying it forward.  Teams that show exceptional promise may be offered an investment from azalvo.   Teams will continue to have access to our mentor network as well as investment opportunity after the program.

What kind of time commitment do you expect?

We believe founders should spend most of their waking hours building a meaningful and enduring startup. With that said, we require founders to join our program for 3 hours every Thursday and 30 minutes every Tuesday. During our Thursday session, you would be introduced to our network of investors, mentors and corporates that can help you on your journey. On Tuesdays, you get a personalized 1-on-1 deep dive with our team.
